Ghana’s Under-17 women’s national team, the Black Maidens, have safely arrived in Monrovia ahead of the second leg of their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Liberia.
The team landed with a commanding 6-0 lead from the first leg played on May 23 at the Accra Sports Stadium. In that dominant home performance, the Maidens showcased clinical finishing and defensive discipline, putting one foot firmly in the next round of qualifiers.
Head coach Joe Nana Adarkwah and his squad will use the remaining days to recover from travel and fine-tune preparations for the return fixture. The match is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, with kickoff set for 4:00 PM local time. Ghana needs only to avoid a heavy defeat to advance.
The young talents remain focused on building momentum as they edge closer to qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
