Africa’s Rising Stars: Four Teams Secure 2026 U-20 World Cup Spots

Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania and Benin have qualified for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup scheduled to take place in Poland from September 5 to 26, 2026. The four African nations secured their places through the final round of CAF qualifiers, adding to the excitement for the global youth tournament.

Ghana’s Black Princesses booked their ticket after edging Uganda 3-2 on aggregate. The result ensures their eighth straight qualification, highlighting the West African country’s strong tradition in women’s youth football.

Nigeria’s Falconets continued their remarkable record by advancing with a 3-2 aggregate victory over Malawi. This marks their 12th consecutive appearance in the competition, underlining their status as Africa’s most consistent performers at this level.

Benin and Tanzania made history as debutants. Benin defeated Côte d’Ivoire 5-2 on aggregate, while Tanzania staged a dramatic comeback against Cameroon to progress on away goals.
