Premier League side AFC Bournemouth have removed defender Álex Jiménez from their squad for Saturday’s match against Fulham after alleged private chat messages with a 15-year-old girl began circulating on social media.
AFC Bournemouth confirmed the decision in a short statement: “AFC Bournemouth are aware of social media posts about right-back Álex Jiménez. The club is investigating the matter. As a result, Álex will not be in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham. The club will make no further comments at this time.”
Jiménez, who turned 21 today, has been a crucial player for Bournemouth this season, making 32 appearances. He joined the south coast club permanently from AC Milan in February 2026 for around 17 million pounds after an earlier loan spell.
Online screenshots show conversations where the player allegedly discussed meeting the girl despite her mentioning her age. The messages are unverified, and no charges have been filed.

Jiménez’s representatives have not issued a public response so far. The club has said the matter remains under internal review.
