Several CAF sides took strong leads in the first legs of the second-round qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Ghana crushed Liberia 6-0 in Accra, with goals from Daniella Abass, Seidatu Wahab (penalty), Jessica Appiah (2), Priscilla Mensah and Mavis Yeboah.

Nigeria stormed to a 5-0 away win over Guinea in Abidjan. Chidi Harmony scored a first-half hat-trick, with Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Mary Dunstan adding the rest.
South Africa defeated Tanzania 2-0 in Zanzibar.
