Fameye returns with ‘Gen Z’, a story of ambition and double lives

Ghanaian musician Fameye has released his latest single, ‘Gen Z’, a new song that explores the realities of young people navigating life beyond their public identities.

The song, which was released on Friday, 24 July 2026, marks a fresh musical direction for the singer, while retaining the emotionally driven storytelling that has become central to his work.

At the heart of ‘Gen Z’ is the story of an intern who appears to be living one life at work and another outside the office and this is a concept Fameye believes will resonate with many young Ghanaians.

Fameye, whose previous songs include ‘Nothing I Get’, ‘Praise’ and ‘Very Soon’, said he wanted the new record to capture the feeling of the present moment without compromising his identity as an artist.

“I wanted to make something that felt like right now, without pretending to be someone I’m not,” Fameye said.

He described ‘Gen Z’ as a departure from his previous work in terms of sound, while insisting that the storytelling at the centre of his music remains intact.
