Five Trophies, One King: Black Sherif Conquers TGMA 2026

Black Sherif was the biggest winner at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, claiming five trophies and cementing his position as Ghana’s leading artist.

The 24-year-old star, known as Blacko, won the following awards:
• Artiste of the Year (his second win)
• Album/EP of the Year for Iron Boy
• Songwriter of the Year
• Best Hiplife/Hip-Hop Artiste
• Best Hip-Hop Song for “Where Dem Boys”

Coming off nine nominations, his strong showing was powered largely by tracks from Iron Boy, especially the hit “Sacrifice.”

In his acceptance speech for Artiste of the Year, Black Sherif dedicated the win to his fans and young Ghanaian dreamers, saying, “This is motivation for every young dreamer out there. We keep pushing the culture forward.”

The multi-genre talent first rose to fame in 2021 and has since blended hip-hop, drill, highlife, and Afrobeats to earn both local dominance and international acclaim.
Black Sherif’s five wins mark one of the strongest individual performances in recent TGMA history.
