Gold Fields Named Headline Partner in $5 Million Two-Year Sponsorship of Ghana Football

Gold Fields has been named the headline partner for Ghana’s senior men’s national team (Black Stars), senior women’s national team (Black Queens), the national amputees team (Black Challenge), and the Women’s Premier League after signing a major two-year financial sponsorship agreement with the Ghana Football Association.

The agreement, valued at US$5 million, was formally executed today. The full amount will be administered by global professional services firm KPMG, which will oversee transparent disbursement, monitoring, and reporting throughout the 2026-2028 sponsorship period.

As headline partner, Gold Fields will enjoy prominent branding and visibility across all four entities, reinforcing its commitment to the holistic development of Ghanaian football. The mining company, which has operated in Ghana for decades, described the partnership as a strategic investment in both high-performance national teams and the growth of women’s football structures.

The sponsorship funds will support operational, logistical, training, and developmental programs for the Black Stars, Black Queens, Black Challenge, and Women’s Premier League. KPMG’s independent administration role ensures accountability and effective allocation of resources.

This landmark deal underscores Gold Fields’ dedication to Ghanaian sport and comes as the country seeks to strengthen its football ecosystem, maintaining the Black Stars’ continental competitiveness while accelerating the professionalization of the amputees players through the Black Challenge and the visibility of women’s football through the Black Queens and the Women’s Premier League.
