Ivory Coast, Ghana, Gambia & Somalia Drawn Together in AFCON 2027 Qualifiers

Ghana’s Black Stars have been placed in a competitive Group C alongside Ivory Coast, The Gambia, and Somalia following today’s draw for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The group comprises:
• Ivory Coast (three-times winners)

• Ghana (four-time winners)

• The Gambia (first-time qualifier)

• Somalia (first-time qualifier)

The qualifiers, which begin in September 2026, will feature 12 groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group will advance to the finals, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

Ghana will look to navigate the tough West African rivalry with Ivory Coast and secure qualification for the expanded 48-team tournament.
