EXCLUSIVE: Ghana to Play Honduras in Closed-Door Friendly

Ghana Media Hub can confirm that the Football Federation of Honduras has decided to withdraw from their friendly match with Ghana.

The Honduras Federation took the decision after their friendly game against Argentina.

The Ghana Football Association may seek a new opponent after Honduras pulled out of a scheduled international friendly.

The Central American side, coming off a 2-0 defeat to Argentina on Saturday in Texas, has withdrawn from the behind-closed-doors match set for Tuesday, June 9, in Washington, D.C.

The fixture was intended as Ghana’s final warm-up before the 2026 World Cup. The Black Stars open Group L against Panama on June 17 in Toronto.

With the squad training in the United States following a 1-1 draw with Wales, officials are now considering options that may include a club side. No opponent has been confirmed.

Ghana will face Panama, England and Croatia in the group stage.
