Asante Kotoko Appoints Dutch Legend Stanley Menzo as Director of Football

Asante Kotoko has appointed 62-year-old Dutch football legend Stanley Purl Menzo as its new Director of Football with immediate effect.

The move forms part of the Porcupine Warriors’ rebuilding plan to modernise operations and reclaim domestic and continental dominance.

Menzo, a former Ajax goalkeeper with over 300 appearances and nine major titles, also represented the Netherlands at the 1990 World Cup. His coaching career spans Europe, Africa and Asia, including stints at Ajax Cape Town, Beijing Guoan and the Suriname national team.

In his new role, he will oversee technical strategy, player recruitment, youth development and the club’s overall football philosophy until a head coach is appointed.

Executive Chairman James Osei Brown said: “Stanley Menzo brings elite experience and a winning philosophy that perfectly matches our ambitions.”
