Black Sherif’s ‘Iron Boy’ Claims Album of the Year at TGMA 2026
Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif has won the prestigious Album of the Year award at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) for his sophomore album, Iron Boy.
The project, released in April 2025, was honoured for its outstanding quality, hit singles, production excellence, and cultural impact. Standout tracks, including “Sacrifice,” which also secured Black Sherif the Best Afropop Song of the Year award.
The 24-year-old artist, widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most influential voices, had previously stated that Album of the Year was the accolade he desired most. He further dominated the night by winning Artist of the Year, marking a historic sweep that highlights his continued rise in Afrobeats and Ghanaian music.
Industry observers have lauded the victories as a testament to Black Sherif’s artistic evolution and the album’s widespread appeal across Ghana and Africa.
