Micheal Ward Cleared of All Rape Charges

British actor Michael Ward was released from Snaresbrook Crown Court today after a jury found him not guilty on all counts in a months-long sexual assault case that has captivated the entertainment world.

The 28-year-old Top Boy star, known for his breakout performances and Bafta Rising Star award, faced rape and related offence accusations after an encounter on January 2, 2023. He denied the claims, asserting the meeting was consensual.

After weeks of deliberation, the jury found the defendant not guilty of two rape charges, two assault by penetration charges, and one sexual assault charge.

Ward appeared relieved as he left the dock. In a brief statement read by his solicitor outside the court, he said: ”Justice has prevailed. I’m grateful to the jury for their careful consideration. This nightmare is over, and I can now focus on rebuilding my life and career. I always believed the truth would come out.”

Ward’s legal proceedings have concluded with this acquittal. He was arrested in January 2023 and has been on bail ever since. No further action is anticipated.
