CAF Reminds Associations of their CMS Responsibility for Inter Club Competitions

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reminded all Member Associations of their responsibilities when using the Competition Management System (CMS) for the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2026/27 season.

CAF emphasised that Member Associations must ensure that all information from clubs and supporting documents uploaded to CMS are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.

This reminder is under the CMS Responsibility section and aims to ensure the smooth and timely organisation of the two flagship interclub competitions.

The engagement process for both competitions has begun on the CMS platform. Member Associations must register their clubs by the strict deadline of 25 July 2026.

During this process, Associations must upload the final standings of their domestic leagues and national cup competitions, along with all necessary supporting documents.

CAF stressed the importance of accurate and complete submissions on the CMS, as they directly affect club eligibility, competition planning, and tournament integrity. Delays or incomplete information could delay the preparation for the preliminary rounds, which start in early September 2026.

The reminder provides detailed information on the 2026/27 competition format, player registration windows, team composition rules, and engagement criteria.

Twelve Member Associations can enter two teams each based on the latest CAF Interclub Ranking, while others can enter one team each.

Associations are urged to prioritise the CMS submission process and verify all uploaded club data before the 25 July deadline.

CAF aims to prevent administrative issues that could affect participating clubs and the 2026/27 season’s delivery by highlighting this responsibility at the start of the engagement period.
