Eriksen Collapses in Denmark Friendly but Walks Off Pitch

Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch during Denmark’s international friendly against Ukraine on Saturday, 7th June, 2026, forcing the match to be abandoned.

The 33-year-old Wolfsburg midfielder went down in the 65th minute with Denmark leading 2-1. He clutched his chest before falling, lost consciousness briefly, but was responsive soon after. Eriksen walked to the ambulance himself and was taken to hospital for checks.

National team doctor Morten Boesen reported that Christian is doing well.

The game was stopped in the 70th minute after players from both teams formed a protective circle around him.

The incident echoes Eriksen’s cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, after which he was fitted with a defibrillator and successfully returned to football.
