Rita Boateng Earns CAF Call-Up for WAFCON 2026 Preparation

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially named Ghanaian referee Rita Boateng among the participants for the WAFCON 2026 Selection Course, scheduled to take place from 25 to 30 June 2026.

Boateng will represent Ghana at the intensive preparatory course designed to assess and enhance the skills of top continental officials ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026. Her selection underscores her proven competence and standing within African women’s football refereeing.

The course will bring together elite referees for specialised training, fitness evaluations, and technical assessments under the guidance of CAF instructors.

For Boateng, this participation marks a significant milestone, offering the opportunity to refine her match officiating standards in line with the highest international benchmarks.

Boateng’s invitation is a recognition of the country’s growing contribution to quality refereeing on the continent. Her involvement is expected to further strengthen Ghana’s presence in CAF’s officiating structures.
