Semenyo Reaffirms Unwavering Commitment to Ghana

Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has strongly reaffirmed his loyalty to the Black Stars, declaring he “was never going to turn it down” when the opportunity to represent Ghana arose.

The 26-year-old Manchester City winger made the comments in a recent interview featured by ITV Football. Born and raised in England, Semenyo qualifies for Ghana through his parents and received his first senior call-up around the age of 19 or 20.

He immediately embraced the chance, describing it as a dream come true. Semenyo emphasised that representing Ghana was a natural choice influenced by strong family ties, noting it was never a serious conversation about England at home.

The forward made his senior debut for Ghana in 2022 and featured at the Qatar World Cup. He has since established himself as a key attacking player known for his pace and direct style.

As the Black Stars prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they face England in the group stage, Semenyo is expected to play a leading role, bringing Premier League experience and momentum from his club career at Manchester City.
