The competition, which kicks off in Morocco on Sunday, July 26, will feature 16 national teams competing for continental supremacy in what promises to be the biggest edition of the women’s tournament yet.

Max TV’s inclusion in the broadcast line-up will provide viewers in Ghana with an accessible platform to follow the action as Africa’s leading women’s football nations battle for the coveted WAFCON title.

The tournament opens in Rabat on Sunday, with Algeria taking on Senegal at 18:00 local time (17:00 GMT), before hosts Morocco face Kenya at 21:00 local time (20:00 GMT).

Ghana’s Black Queens are also among the teams competing at the tournament and will be looking to make a strong impression on their return to Africa’s premier women’s football championship.

The 2026 WAFCON comes with an increased prize fund, with the eventual winners set to receive USD 2 million.

With Max TV joining more than 18 Free-to-Air broadcasters across Africa, football supporters in Ghana are set to have a readily accessible option for following the tournament as the continent’s best women’s teams compete for glory in Morocco.
