The Ghanaian women’s national football team, the Black Queens, will take on Mauritius in the 2nd Round qualifiers of the CAF for the qualification to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA.

This was after opponents, Mauritius defeated Djibouti 3-1 on aggregate in their preliminary round match in two legs.

Mauritius, despite its lower continental ranking, is gaining confidence after their performances in preliminary Olympic qualifiers. The island nation’s team is expected to be disciplined and counter-attacking, challenging Ghana’s attacking style and physical presence.

A positive result in this qualifier would boost Ghana’s confidence as they progress through the multi-stage qualification process. Recent training sessions have shown encouraging form, with improved attacking combinations and defensive solidity under the new coaching regime.

Mauritius’s away fixture against an established African side is challenging but valuable. Success or a competitive performance could further develop their continental development.
